About Us?

Oke-Ogun region is a significant part of Oyo State. It is located in the North-Western Part of the state. It has 10 Local Government areas which is almost one-third of the local government areas in the state.

In terms of population, it is second only to Ibadan land, the capital city of Oyo state that has eleven local government areas. About 25% of the population of Oyo state lives in Oke-Ogun. According to the 2006 census, its population was 1,485,158 million and its total area was 15,025 square kilometers.

It is to be noted that the region is one of the biggest with a huge land mass endowed with fertile agricultural area. The land is good for production of a wide variety of agricultural products like maize, melon, cassava, yams, bananas, beans, fruits, vegetable etc. hence it is acknowledged as the food basket of Oyo State.

Why Us?

Over 80% of households in Oke-Ogun region still rely on traditional fuels such as firewood, kerosene, charcoal etc as cooking fuel. This continue to pose an increasing environmental challenge with continuous deforestation. Apart from the environmental challenges, The use of traditional fuels also entails a waste of productive time and energy.

Contrary to traditional fuels, Liquefied Petroleum Gas is a clean fuel; it releases fewer pollutants thereby protecting the health of users especially women and children. LPG is safe, cheap and also easy to light. It provides instant heat after lighting compare to firewood and charcoal. It also cooks fast and convenient to use; this is one of the main reasons why the use of LPG has been growing worldwide.

In order to meet the objective of universal access to clean cooking and heating solutions by 2030, Oke-Ogun gas is increasing the availability and accessibility of LPG to households and businesses in Oke-Ogun region. Modern LPG infrastructure and strategy has been put in place for bottling and distribution of LPG across the entire region.
